This amazing Art Deco black silk velvet rhinestone beaded jacket dates from the 1920s. It is made of a black silk velvet fabric, with gold metallic thread soutache work done in a zigzagging design and prong set rhinestones hand sewn into the pattern. This fabulous flapper style loose fitting coat jacket is mid length, with an attached velvet neck scarf draping around the neckline and a silver rhinestone circular buckle, an open front with no closure and 3/4 length flared bell shape sleeves. It is fully lined in a sheer black silk chiffon fabric, with a "Manahan Incorporated Boston" label sewn inside the bottom hemline. The jacket measures 23 inches long, with a 40 inch waist, bust and a 16 inch back. It is in good wearable condition, with only a few tiny holes in the chiffon lining and has not been cleaned, with a slight musty odor. This is a wonderful piece of Art Deco wearable textile art.
