This vintage Bulgarian folk costume embroidered linen blouse dates from the 1920s. It is hand stitched, made of a fine quality white linen fabric, with red and black cross stitch embroidery work done in a decorative geometric design. The Bulgarian embroidery work is on the collar, front opening and sleeve cuffs. This fabulous folk peasant costume blouse shirt is loose fitting, with a pullover style, black crochet button-up front closure, pleated shoulders, a fold over collar, long full sleeves with fitted button cuffs and darts on the front waist. The blouse measures 22 inches long, with a 42 inch waist, 46 inch bust, 15 inch back and 27 inch long sleeves. It is in excellent wearable condition, with only a small faint age spot on the bottom back. This is a wonderful piece of wearable Bulgarian textile folk art. $100 |
