This antique early Victorian era beige silk stripe corset ball gown bodice dates from the 1840s. It is made of a light beige cream color iridescent silk moire fabric, with a striped pattern design. This beautiful ball gown bodice, has a rounded scoop low off the shoulder neckline, with a short cap sleeve and a long pointed waist on the both the front and back. There is a corseted lacing back closure, with the original string cord laces, stays boning sewn inside the linen lining and inner waistband panel with hook & eye closure. The bodice measures 12 inches long, with a 22 inch waist and 30 inch bust. It is in excellent wearable condition, with only some faint underarm discoloration. This a wonderful piece of wearable early Victoriana and a rare find. $150 |
