This vintage Indian Gujarati Pakistan pakko embroidery mirror skirt dates from the 1950s. It is made a radiant red heavy linen fabric with vibrant colorful decorative crewel chain stitch pakko bharat embroidery work of the tribal folk patterns from Gujarati, Rajasthan India and Sindh Pakistan. There are small mirrors embroidered into the peacock and decorative design pattern. This lovely ladies traditional handmade hand embroidered long full boho gypsy skirt has a red waistband with pleated gathering around the waist and no closure on back. It still has the original tag from "Gurjari Made in India" attached to the front waist. The skirt measures 35 inches long, with a 30 to 32 inch waist once closure is added on the back waistband. It is in excellent wearable condition and looks to have never been worn. This is a wonderful piece of Indian Pakistani folk culture colorful wearable art. |
