This vintage Chinese cut silk applique floral robe jacket dates from the 1930s. It is made of a black silk damask floral brocaded fabric, with a sheer cut work pattern in areas and colorful pastel silk floral applique's hand stitched and outlined in silver metallic thread. This short jacket style robe has a mandarin collar neckline, long full sleeves, with wide flared cuffs, side and back vent slits, colorful silk trim edging and celadon green silk knotted button loop toggles for closure down the front. There are two silk tie flap panels hanging down the bottom front. It is unlined accentuating the sheerness of the fabric when held up to the light. The jacket measures 24 inches long, with a 42 inch waist, 34 inch bust and 24 inch wide sleeve cuffs. It is in excellent wearable condition. This is a wonderful piece of wearable Chinese textile art.
