This vintage Japanese geisha orange black gold brocade kimono obi sash dates from the Showa Period 1960s. It is made of a bright orange and black silk gold metallic brocaded fabric done in a lush floral design pattern. This gorgeous Japanese senior geisha fukuro obi sash would have been worn wrapped around securing a formal kimono used for ceremonial wear and celebration. It is backed and lined in a cream color silk fabric which has some faint discoloration staining. The obi measures 100 inches long and is 10 1/2 inches wide. It is in good condition and is a wonderful piece of wearable Japanese textile art. $75 |
