This antique Victorian Civil War era floral velvet swiss waist corset corselet bodice dates from 1865. It is made of a black and dark midnight blue color poinsettia floral print velvet fabric, with stays boning sewn inside the linen lining. This fabulous fitted corset swiss waist bodice has shoulder straps to support the breasts and back, a low squared neckline, peplum skirted waist with bottom point and eyelet holes down the front for lacing closure. The corset measures 18 inches long, with a 22 inch waist and 34 inch bust. The lacing could be let out to be made slightly larger. It is in good wearable condition, with some minor wear and slight discoloration staining under the arms. The original corset strings lacing are missing and have been replaced with shoe strings.
