This antique white silk embroidered wedding piano shawl dates from the 1920s. It is made of an off white ivory color fine silk fabric background, with white white silk raised padded satin stitch hand embroidery work. There are lush floral vine leaf designs done on the two triangle corners and surrounding border. There is a fabulous hand knotted macramé white ivory silk fringe which measures 13 inches long surrounding the entire shawl with rounded corners. The shawls fabric square measures 67 by 67 inches. This quality made Manton Canton Chinese Cantonese style Spanish Flamenco shawl would have been worn by a bride on her wedding day. It is in good wearable condition, but has not been cleaned and has some small faint age spots. This is truly a wonderful piece of wearable textile art.
