This vintage blue bretonne needle lace gold embroidered slip dress dates from the 1930s. It is made of antique fabrics and trims which have been redesigned, hand embellished into a custom made unique one of a kind creation. There is a sheer blue bretonne needle lace fabric dress with couched outline details done in an applique floral pattern design and backed underneath with a pink silk slip lining sewn inside for reinforcement. The front of the dress has gold metallic blue silk embroidered trim, mauve sequin beading, blue silk pleating ruche gathers, rosettes and a gold tone pearl pin embellishment sewn onto the front neckline. The dress has been altered, with added blue silk shoulder straps and a blue silk fabric panel draping down the back which covers the opening gap making the dress larger and able to slip over the head without closures. There is a blue silk ribbon sash belt with velcro closure which can be worn with the dress or not. This beautiful blue lace dress has an A-line slip style, with rounded front neckline and exposed back. The dress measures 50 inches long, with 40 inch hips, a 32 inch waist and 36 inch bust. It is in good wearable condition, with only a small faint age spot stain on the front top (see close-up). This is truly a wonderful piece of wearable art.
