This vintage Plum Blossoms Chinese silk embroidered floral bird coat dates from the 1960s. It is made of a white silk satin fabric background, with colorful silk raised padded satin stitch hand embroidery work and tiny french knot accents. There are a variety of embroidered flowers and birds covering the entire coat. This magnificent mid length long coat style robe has a high mandarin collar neckline, long full sleeves, front slit pockets and silk knotted button loop toggles, hidden snaps for closure down the front. It is fully lined, with a "Plum Blossoms Made in China" label and size 40 tag sewn inside. The coat measures 39 inches long, with 48 inch hips, a 46 inch waist, 44 inch bust, 15 inch back and 23 inch long sleeves. It is in excellent wearable condition, with only a small faint yellow stain on the sleeve cuff. This is a wonderful piece of wearable Chinese textile art.
