This antique Edwardian era Suffragette purple and white silk embroidered floral polka dot net lace dress blouse skirt dates from 1910. It is made of a sheer white net fabric, with purple and white silk raised padded satin stitch embroidery work, with a floral vine leaf design and polka dot pattern. The women's suffrage movement adopted the color scheme of purple, white and green symbolizing dignity, purity and hope. This exquisite embroidered dress includes a blouse, skirt and fabric remnant swatch. The blouse is unlined has a scalloped edge open front, kerchief back collar, long sleeves and a fitted waist with hook & eye closure. It measures 18 inches long, with a 28 inch waist, 36 inch bust and 15 inch back. There is a long floor length full skirt, lined in white silk taffeta, with a scalloped bottom hemline, hook & eye closure on the back. The skirt measures 36 inches long, with a 30 inch waist. Included is a small swatch piece of matching embroidered fabric remnant measuring 21 by 14 inches. The outfit is in good wearable condition, with only some faint age spotting on the sleeve, the skirt silk lining is shattered frayed and needs to be removed replaced.
