This vintage Turkish Ottoman tugra silk metallic embroidered outfit, harem pants, robe, belt and fez date from the 1920s. It is made of a pinkish peach coral color silk fabric, with hand embroidered tambour chain stitch crewel needlework done in colored metal threads and gold metallic done in a floral vine leaf and boteh tear drop paisley pattern design. The Tugra of Mehmed VI the 36th, the last sultan of the Ottoman Empire is embroidered on the top of the fez cap. This exquisite ethnic four piece outfit includes loose fitting, baggy bloomer, harem pants, Turkish trousers which have a short style, gathered leg cuffs and adjustable drawstring waistband. The pants measure 26 inches long, with a 36 inch waist. There is a matching short kaftan style robe, coat, jacket, with an open front, no closure and short sleeves. The robe measures 19 inches long, with a 38 inch bust and 18 inch back. There is a separate sash belt, with attached pouch pocket purse and no closure. The belt measures 30 inches long. There is a pillbox style fez cap hat, with gold metallic tassel trim on top. The hat measures 21 1/2 inches inside circumference. This outstanding Ottoman outfit is in good wearable condition, with only a few tiny faint age spot stains on the robe (see close-up). It is truly a rare one of a kind piece of wearable antique Turkish Ottoman Empire textile art!
