This vintage green linen tambour chain stitch embroidered Uzbek suzani robe coat dates from the 1920s. It is made of a dark green heavy quality weave linen fabric, with vivid vibrant colorful tambour chain stitch embroidery work, suzani needlework. There is a fabulous floral motif, with an abstract flower, blossom, vine, tree of life design done along the bottom. This exquisite ethnic long robe coat jacket has a loose fitting cocoon wrap style, with gold metallic lamé brocade ribbon trim edging, an open front with no closure and long full sleeves. It is fully lined in a red cotton fabric, with a floral rose cotton print fabric lining the inside opening. The coat measures 45 inches long, with 50 inch hips, waist, bust and a 18 inch back. It is in excellent wearable condition. This is truly a wonderful Central Asia extraordinary piece of embroidery textile wearable art! |
