This vintage black velvet white ermine fur hooded evening opera coat dates from the 1940s. It is made of a luxurious black silk velvet fabric, with white ermine fur trim edging along the hood. This elegant evening opera coat has a black velvet draping hooded back, is a long floor length, with gathered broad shoulders, long full sleeves and a black velvet button closure at the neck. It is fully lined in a white silk satin fabric, with a "Kaufmann's Fifth Avenue Pittsburgh" department store label sewn inside. The coat measures 53 inches long, with 46 inch hips, a 44 inch waist, 42 inch bust, 15 inch back and 26 inch long sleeves. This beautiful quality made evening coat is in excellent wearable condition and is missing a button closure near the waist.
