It is made of an off white cream color silk fabric background, with colorful silk raised padded satin stitch hand embroidery work. There are beautifully embroidered Chinese pheasant birds and butterflies in each corner and a variety of flowers. The pheasant is the emblem for beauty and good fortune, also representing literary refinement. There is a fabulous hand knotted macramé off white silk fringe measuring 24 inches long surrounding the entire shawl with rounded corners. The shawls fabric square measures 48 by 48 inches.
