This vintage Japanese white silk gold embroidered butterfly tassel shawl cape cloak dates from 1920. It is made of an off white ivory cream color fine silk fabric, with raised padded satin stitch hand embroidery work, gold metallic thread stitched accents, done in a butterfly and cherry blossom floral design. This wonderful winter white mid length cloak cape has a V front neckline, draping hooded back, with tassel trim, hand knotted macramé silk fringe edging and a wonderful tassel toggle knotted button closure. It is fully lined in white silk. The cape measures 36 inches long and has 120 inch bottom circumference. It is in excellent clean wearable condition. This is truly a wonderful piece of wearable Japanese textile art!
