This vintage white net pastel yarn embroidered ruffle dress gown & slip dates from the 1930s. It is made of a sheer white cotton net fabric, with pastel wool yarn hand embroidery work done in a decorative floral garland design along the bottom skirt. This gorgeous garden party gown dress is floor length, sleeveless, with a rounded scoop neckline, ruffle trim edging around the collar, a fitted drop waist, long full skirt, with ruffle trim hemline and side snap closures. There is a shorter in length, white silk slip dress lining sewn inside, with side snap closures. The dress measures 56 inches long, with 36 inch hips, a 36 inch waist and 30 inch bust. It is in good wearable condition, with a few tiny pin holes on the back neckline and some small holes on the front skirt clustered around one area (see close-ups). There is some faint yellowing staining on the inside silk slip lining. |
