This antique Victorian era sheer black weave pleated mourning gown dress bodice skirt train dates from 1890. It is made of a black silk wool blend sheer weave woven fabric, with pleating, crochet lace inserts and black silk knotted applique's on the bodice. There is a sheer fine black swiss dot net yoke with black silk raised padded satin stitch embroidered flowers. This beautiful black two piece mourning gown dress has a blousey bodice, with a high neck collar, wrap around style accent pleated panel trim, fitted waist, long tapered sleeves with lace trim cuffs and hook & eye closures down the back. It is fully lined, with stays boning sewn inside and "A. E. Rollen, 107 West 82nd St., N.Y." label waistband. The bodice measures 16 inches long, with a 26 inch waist, 36 inch bust, 14 inch back and 23 inch long sleeves. There is a matching fabric, pleated trim, long full skirt, with a back train drape sheer silk chiffon insert and hook & eye closures. The skirt measures 42 inches long in the front, 57 inches long in the back, with a 24 inch waist. This magnificent mourning outfit is in good wearable condition, with a few small holes in the net yoke and some fraying holes on the sheer black silk insert along the back skirt train (see close-ups).
