This vintage Hungarian folk costume floral pleated wool ribbon skirt jumper pinafore dress dates from 1900. It is hand stitched, made of a pleated blue and white striped colorful floral print fine wool fabric, with black silk colorful floral brocade ribbon trim sewn around the back bottom half of the skirt. This women's fabulous folk Bohemian Hungarian peasant costume pinafore jumper style one piece dress has a red and white cotton calico floral print sleeveless top with a low scoop front neckline, red fabric front panel skirt where a decorative apron would have been worn over and a full circle skirt. The dress measures 55 inches long, with a 28 inch waist and 30 inch bust. It is in good wearable condition, with a few small mended repairs on the front top and shoulder straps (see close-up). This is a museum deaccession, with a "Hungary Skirt" tag sewn inside and is a wonderful early piece of wearable Hungarian textile costume folk art!
