This antique Ottoman Turkish white wool silk embroidered paisley shawl cloak cape dates from the 1920s. It is hand stitched, made of an off white cream color fine wool fabric, with white silk raised padded satin stitch hand embroidery work Indian paisley designs, boteh pine, cone motifs done along the border edging. This stunning shawl style long floor length cloak cape is fully lined in a yellow silk fabric, with a white tassel trim on the bottom and hook & eye closure near the center. The shawl measures 134 inches long, 44 inches wide when laid out and on a dress form is 60 inches long in the front, 42 inches long in back. This magnificent textile has wonderful quality workmanship. It is in excellent wearable condition, with only a few tiny faint age spots. This is truly a beautiful one of a kind piece of Ottoman Turkish textile paisley art!
