This vintage Chinese silk embroidered auspicious crane knot floral robe coat dates from the 1930s. It is made of a off white silk satin fabric, with colorful raised padded satin stitch hand embroidery work. There are Chinese precious objects auspicious symbols done in roundel medallions, crane bird, endless knot, pearl, peony and lotus flowers. This beautiful robe surcoat has a loose fitting, long floor length style, with a mandarin collar, black silk trim edging, knotted button toggle closures down the front and black silk colorful embroidered sleeve band cuffs. It is fully lined in white silk, with an old "Made in China" tag sewn inside. The robe measures 45 inches long, with 40 inch hips, waist and bust. It is in good wearable condition, with only some small faint age spot stains. This is a wonderful piece of wearable antique Chinese textile art.
