This antique Victorian era ecru beige striped silk blue fringe gown dress bodice skirt dates from 1890. It is made of a off white cream and ecru beige striped silk fabric, with blue silk ruche gathered trim around the skirt and two tone beige, blue silk fringe trim on the bodice. This beautiful two piece visiting gown dress has a fitted bodice, with a high neck collar, blue beading accents, short cap sleeve shoulders, long tapered ruched gathering pleated sleeves and hook & eye closures along the front side. It is fully lined, with stays boning sewn inside and inside waistband. The bodice measures 16 inches long, with a 22 inch waist, 32 inch bust and 11 inch back. There is a matching fabric long full skirt, with slight back train drape and hook & eye closures. It is fully lined, with a blue silk dust ruffle hemline sewn underneath which is fraying. The skirt measures 41 inches long, with a 24 inch waist. This sensational outfit has some fraying splits along the sleeves and a small black stain with tiny pin holes on the front top skirt (see close-ups). This is a wonderful piece of wearable art from a different era.
