This antique Edwardian era pleated white cotton batiste lace lawn graduation tea dress dates from 1910. It is made of a sheer fine white cotton batiste lawn fabric, with pleating, crochet and valenciennes French bobbin lace inserts. There is raised padded satin stitch embroidery work on the sleeves and bottom skirt. This lovely lace long floor length dress has a squared neckline, 3/4 length sleeves and hidden pearl buttons down the back for closure. It is sheer and unlined. The dress measures 53 inches long, with a 22 inch waist, 34 inch bust and 12 inch back. It is in good wearable condition, with only a tiny old mended repair on the lower back skirt and a tiny pin hole on the front side skirt. There are a few small breaks holes in the lace trim. This is a wonderful piece of romantically feminine Edwardian antique textile art which could be worn as a wedding gown or graduation dress! |
