This vintage tawny brown gabardine wool women's suit jacket and skirt dates from the 1940s. It is made of a yellowish brown tawny color gabardine 100% virgin wool fabric. This classic quality made ladies suit has a tailored jacket with a boxy style, broad shoulder padding, a fitted waist, two scalloped edge top breast pockets and a single button for closure on the front. It is fully lined, with a "Forstmann" label sewn inside. The jacket measures 23 inches long, with a 30 inch waist and 36 inch bust. There is a matching fabric pencil skirt, with button and zipper back closures. The skirt measures 30 inches long, with 36 inch hips and a 26 inch waist. There is a tiny pin hole on the shoulder and front jacket near where the button was moved over and a small hole on the back skirt near the open seam zipper (see close-ups). This is a wonderful piece of wearable art from a different era. |
