This vintage cream wool pastel violets french knot embroidered fringe shawl dates from the 1920s. It is made of an off white yellowish cream color fine wool fabric, with pastel wool yarn hand embroidery french knot work done in a floral violet posy design. This pretty shawl has hand knotted cream wool fringe trim edging and the embroidery work is done only on one corner of the shawl forming a triangle shape. The square shawl measures 44 by 44 inches, with 14 inch long fringe. There are a few tiny moth nip holes and frays. This is a wonderful piece of wearable art!
