This vintage Czech Bohemia folk costume black pleated brocade ribbon skirt dates from the early 20th century. It is hand stitched, made of a pleated black polished cotton fabric, with a silk satin sheen. There is colorful blue silk floral brocade ribbon, black needle lace and silver metallic rickrack trim sewn around the bottom hem. This women's fabulous folk Bohemian Czech Slovakian peasant costume skirt has an apron style with a back opening and red cotton decorative stitched waistband with a red heart floral carved button closure. The skirt measures 34 1/2 inches long, with a 25 inch waist. It is in good wearable condition and is a museum deaccession, with a "Czeck Skirt" tag sewn inside (see close-up) . This is truly a rare and wonderful piece of wearable Bohemia Czech textile folk art! $100 |
