This vintage Ceil Chapman sexy wiggle pleated drape black cocktail dress dates from the 1950s. It is made of a black silk jersey fabric, with lots of draping, pleating and gathers. This sexy form fitting wiggle sheath style classic little black cocktail dress has a rounded scoop neckline, backless, sleeveless and back zipper closure. It is fully lined, with stays boning sewn inside the bodice and a "Ceil Chapman" designer label. Ceil designed for the movies, television and specialized in cocktail and formal evening wear. She was said to have been Marilyn Monroe’s favorite designer. The dress measures 42 inches long, with 34 inch hips, a 24 inch waist and 34 inch bust. It is in good wearable condition, with only a tiny pin hole on the back bottom hemline and a few tiny snags pulls on the back skirt. The hem is out of the skirt. This is a rare and wonderful piece of wearable designer textile art!
