Vintage 20s Black & White Batiste Floral Smocking Embroidered Boho Peasant Dress
This vintage black and white batiste floral smocking embroidered boho peasant dress dates from the 1920s. It is made of a sheer fine white cotton batiste fabric, with contrasting black needlework floral raised padded satin stitch hand embroidery work, decorative stitched smocking and drawn cut work. This pretty peasant style bohemian Hungarian Czech folk dress has a V front neckline, shoulder smocking, short flared cap sleeves and a fitted smocked waistband. The dress measures 43 inches long, with a 32 inch waist and 44 inch bust. It is in good wearable condition, with only a tiny faint age spot stain on the back top, bottom skirt and a small mended repair on the front skirt (see close-up). This is a wonderful piece of wearable bohemian peasant textile folk art!
