Edwardian Titanic 1912 Blue & Black Striped Wool Walking Suit Jacket Skirt Dress
This antique Edwardian Titanic era blue and black striped wool walking suit jacket and skirt dates from 1912. It is made of a dark blue and black striped wool fabric, with decorative button trim accents on the jacket. This lovely two piece ladies tailored travel walking suit includes a double breasted coat jacket, which is longer in the back, with long full sleeves, wide rolled cuffs, a black velvet trimmed fold over collar and black silk covered buttons down the front for closure. It is lined in blue silk, which is frayed, splitting, with a "Waldman Bros. Albany N.Y." label inside. The jacket measures 23 inches long in front, 28 inches long in back, with 36 inch hips, waist and bust, a 12 inch back and 23 inch long sleeves. Included is a matching fabric, unlined, long floor length full skirt, with hook closures. The skirt measures 41 inches long, with 34 inch hips and a 26 inch waist. It is in good wearable condition, with several small moth nip holes in the skirt and two tiny moth holes on the jacket. This wonderful women's walking suit would have been worn for travel!
