This antique Victorian era red and black voided velvet chenille beaded fringe dolman mantle cape dates from the 1880s. It is made of a red and black cut voided velvet silk fabric, with a textured floral rose pattern design. There is red and black soft silk chenille tassel fringe trim edging, with black jet beaded accents hanging down from the bottoms. This magnificent mantle cloak cape jacket has dolman style partial sleeves, a loose fitting cape like style, with gathered shoulders and hook & eye closures. It is fully lined in an iridescent golden brown silk fabric. The cape measures 28 inches long in the front, 25 inches long in the back, 15 inches across the shoulders, with a 34 inch bust. It is in good wearable condition, with only a few missing chenille beaded tassels. This a wonderful piece of wearable Victoriana textile beaded art! $350 |
