This antique Victorian era Ayrshire whitework christening gown infant dress dates from 1850. It is hand stitched, made of a fine white cotton batiste fabric, with Ayrshire whitework, raised padded satin stitch embroidery eyelet drawn thread cutwork and lace trim edging. This beautiful baby infant christening gown dress has a high empire waist, a squared drawstring neckline, open back, short cap sleeves, a long full skirt and scalloped hem. The gown measures 43 inches long, with a 18 inch chest, 16 inch waist and 6 inch circumference sleeve opening. It is in good clean wearable condition and is truly a wonderful piece of hand done antique whitework!
