This antique Victorian era black velvet green beaded evening cloak cape capelet dates from 1880. It is made of a black velvet fabric, with iridescent green bead work done in a decorative design and sequin accents. This elegant evening short cloak cape capelet has a black silk chiffon ruffle stand up collar, with hook closures down the front and is fully lined in a red silk taffeta fabric. The cape measures 17 inches long, with a 108 inch bottom circumference and 16 inch neck. It is in as-is good wearable condition, with some areas of missing beads and staining on the front (see close-up). There is some fraying of the silk ruffle collar and inside silk lining. This is a wonderful piece of beaded wearable art!
