1920s Vintage White Silk Rosette Princess Bobbin Lace Drop Waist Wedding Dress
This vintage white silk rosette princess bobbin lace drop waist wedding dress dates from the 1920s. It is made of an off white ivory color silk fabric, with a cream color sheer fine net fancy princess lace, with battenburg style tape lace, duchesse and mixed Brussels bobbin lace appliqued, done in a scrolling, spiraling, floral rosette leaf pattern design. There is a large silk rosette ribbon flower trim on the side hip. This lovely lace beautiful bridal wedding dress has a loose fitting drop waist style, sleeveless, with a sheer lace yoke insert neckline, smocking gathers around the waist, side snap closures and a layered tiered ruffle full pannier style skirt. The skirt is lined and there is a "Carson Pirie Scott & Co. Chicago" store label sewn inside. The dress measures 49 inches long, with 34 inch hips, waist and bust. It is in good wearable condition, with only a tiny fray on one shoulder (see close-up). This is truly a rare and wonderful piece of wearable antique lace art which would make a gorgeous wedding gown!
