This vintage antique Chinese figural pheasant dragon silk embroidered jacket coat dates from the 1940s. It is made of a black silk fabric background, with colorful raised padded satin stitch embroidery work. There is a lavishly lush floral foliage, figural, pagoda temple, birds, pheasant and dragon design completely covering the fabric. The dragon and pheasant represent the animal and bird kingdoms and are a symbol of the entire natural world. This exquisitely embroidered quality made jacket has a loose fitting boxy style, with broad shoulder padding, long full sleeves, mandarin collar, silk toggle closures and is fully lined in black silk. The coat measures 24 inches long, with a 40 inch waist, 40 inch bust and 16 inch back. It is in good wearable condition. This is truly a wonderful piece of wearable Chinese embroidery textile art!
