This antique Victorian era black lace jet beaded mourning mantle dolman cape capelet dates from 1880. It is made of a black silk grosgrain ribbed fabric, with jet beading. There is a scrolling spiral floral vine leaf beaded design, with black lace trim along the bottom. This beautiful beaded mourning mantle dolman style cape capelet has black silk ribbon bow trim on the shoulders, a bottom back drape, hooks for closure down the front and is fully lined in black silk with straps inside. The cape measures 20 inches long, 18 inches across the shoulders, 90 inch bottom circumference and a 18 inch neck. It is in good wearable condition, with only a few missing beads along the bottom trim edging and a small faint stain on the front. This is a wonderful piece of wearable Victoriana beaded art!
