This antique Victorian era gentlemen's white silver brocade wedding waistcoat vest dates from the 1850s. It is hand stitched and made of an off white silk damask brocade fabric, with a silver metallic fleck weave textured pattern design of peony flowers and leafs. There is a linen fabric backing, with an adjustable tie strap and below a metal buckle strap sewn onto the back. It is lined in linen. This dapper gentlemen's wedding waistcoat vest has a V front opening, two bottom front pockets, a smaller breast pocket under the arm and five fabric covered buttons for closure on the front. The vest measures 20 inches long, with a 32 inch waist and 34 inch chest. It is in good wearable condition, with only some faint age spotting on the front (see close-up).
