This antique Edwardian Titanic era ecru wool chenille gold embroidered lace trim dress dates from 1912. It is made of a dark ecru cream color wool fabric, with off white chenille embroidery work and gold metallic couching work done in a floral vine leaf design. There is ecru lace trim inserts. This gorgeous gown visiting dress has pleated detailing on the top, long full flared sleeves with fitted cuffs, a fitted waist, long floor length skirt and snap closures down the front. It is unlined, but there is some silk backing behind the lace which is shattering inside. The dress is a large size measuring 53 inches long, with 42 inch hips, a 36 inch waist, 42 inch bust and 19 inch back. It is in good wearable condition, with only a few tiny moth nip holes in the sleeves (see close-up). This is a wonderful piece of wearable Titanic era textile art!
