This antique exquisite embroidered floral butterfly Canton piano shawl dates from the 1920s. It is made of an off white cream color silk fabric background, with colorful pastel silk raised padded satin stitch hand embroidery work. There is a lavishly lush floral foliage vine leaf, butterfly dense design completely covering the shawl. There is a fabulous hand knotted macramé cream color silk fringe which measures 24 inches long surrounding the entire shawl with rounded corners. The shawls fabric square measures 52 by 52 inches. This exceptional quality made Manton Canton Chinese Cantonese style Spanish Flamenco shawl is quite heavy weighing over 3 pounds. It is in good wearable condition, with only a couple of tiny faint age spot stains along the side (see close-up). This is truly a rare and exceptional piece of wearable embroidered textile art!
