This antique Victorian era black silk accordion pleated jet beaded evening cloak cape dates from 1880. It is made of a black silk taffeta crisp fabric, with a tight Fortuny style accordion pleating and black jet beading around the neckline yoke, with black silk ribbon trim draping down the back. This elegant evening short cloak cape capelet has layering along the shoulders, a beaded collar, hook closures down the front and is fully lined. The cape measures 21 inches long, with a 107 inch bottom circumference, 34 inch bust and 18 inch neck. It is in as-is good wearable condition, with some missing loose beads and several frayed splits in the silk fabric, mostly along the bottom hem and shoulders (see close-up). Great for design! This is a wonderful unique piece of pleated beaded wearable art!
