This antique Victorian Civil War era black chantilly lace pagoda sleeve robe coat dates from the 1860s. It is made of a sheer fine delicate black net French chantilly lace, with a floral foliage leaf pattern outlined in black threads with detailed shading effects. This lovely lace has been created into a loose fitting robe style coat jacket, with an uneven handkerchief hemline, long full flared bell shape pagoda sleeves, a fold over lace collar, open front with silk tassel trim, no closure and is fully lined in a black silk taffeta fabric. The coat measures 37 inches long, with a 38 inch bust, 40 inch hips and waist. It is in good wearable condition, with only a few small holes in the silk inside lining.
