This antique Chinese Tibetan Indian yellow silk Kutch embroidery skirt dates from the late 19th century. It is made of a golden yellow color silk fabric, with red silk Kutch Gujarat hand embroidery work designs of flowers, leaves and chain stitched birds. There are red silk Chinese characters woven into the silk fabric on the back (see close-up). This stunning skirt has a blue silk waistband sewn along the top which is missing the drawstring back closure. The skirt measures 34 inches long, with a 34 inch waist. It is in good condition, with only a small amount of fading in areas. This is a wonderful piece of wearable antique tribal textile art!
