This Edwardian era antique white battenburg tape lace applique sheer blouse shirt top dates from 1905. It is hand made of a white filmy linen stitch, fine tape lace, with button hole stitching, connecting brides and bars done in a scrolling, spiral design, with lace floral pattern net medallion applique inserts. This lovely lace sheer shirt blouse top has a high neck collar, long fitted sleeves, a fitted waist and hook closures down the back. It is sheer and unlined. The blouse measures 19 inches long, with a 26 inch waist, 34 inch bust, 13 inch back and 22 inch long sleeves. It is in good condition, with only a few breaks in the lace connecting brides and bars. This is truly an exceptional piece of wearable textile lace art!
