This antique Victorian era black velvet jet beaded evening opera cloak cape capelet dates from 1880. It is made of a black velvet fabric, with black jet bead work done in a decorative scalloped scroll work design. This elegant evening opera cloak cape capelet has a pleated black silk ruffle stand up collar with a black lace ruffle trim, black silk ribbon tie drape down the front, hook closures and is fully lined. The cape measures 17 inches long, with a 112 inch bottom circumference and 15 inch neck. It is in good condition, but does have some splits fraying of the silk ribbon tie trim on front and black lace collar on back (see close-ups). This is a wonderful piece of Victoriana beaded wearable art!
