This antique Edwardian era cream silk embroidered tassel wedding shawl cloak cape dates from 1910. It is made of an off white cream color fine silk fabric, with raised padded satin stitch, french knot, eyelet hand embroidery work. There are embroidered floral vine leaf designs. This beautiful bridal wedding cloak cape was custom made and created from an antique Spanish Flamenco style piano shawl, with hand knotted macramé cream color silk fringe trim edging and a back shawl collar. There are silk tassel trim accents hanging down the back and on the silk toggle button front closure. The cape measures 40 inches long, with a 56 inch bust and 142 inch bottom circumference. It is in good condition, but has not been cleaned, with only some slight faint soiling around the front neckline (see close-up). This is truly a rare wonderful piece of wearable textile art!
