This antique Victorian era gentleman's cream wool embroidered wedding waistcoat vest dates from the 1850s. It is hand stitched and made of an off white cream color fine wool fabric, with silk raised padded satin stitch and French knot hand embroidery work designs of flowers and leaves. There is a white polished cotton fabric backing, with a flared skirted bottom back, an adjustable brass buckle strap on the back and is fully lined inside. This dapper gentlemen's wedding waistcoat vest has a V front opening, with lapel collar, two bottom front slit pockets, gusset bottom sides and five fabric covered buttons for closure on the front. The vest measures 21 inches long, with a 30 inch waist and 34 inch chest. It is in good condition, has not been cleaned and has some faint age spotting and water spot stains. This is truly a rare and exceptional quality made men's early Victorian vest! |
