This antique Edwardian era red silk embroidered tassel piano shawl cloak cape dates from 1910. It is made of crimson red color silk fabric, with raised padded satin stitch, french knot, drawn eyelet hand embroidery work. There are embroidered floral vine leaf designs. This radiant red cloak cape was custom made and created from an antique Spanish Flamenco style piano shawl, with hand knotted macramé red silk fringe trim edging and a back shawl collar. There are large red silk tassel trim accents hanging down the back and on the front tie closure. The cape measures 42 inches long in the front, 47 inches long in the back and has a 200 inch bottom circumference. It is in good condition, with only tiny hole on the back (see close-up). This is truly a rare color and wonderful piece of wearable textile art!
