This exquisite vintage cream silk butterfly French knot embroidered filet lace drop waist dress dates from the 1920s. It is made of an off white cream color fine silk fabric, with raised padded satin stitch and French knot embroidery work done in a floral butterfly design and filet lace inserts done in a floral rose vine leaf pattern. This lovely lace drop waist dress is loose fitting, with a chemise straight shift style, short cap sleeves, a rounded neckline and is sheer, unlined. The dress measures 42 inches long, with 48 inch hips, a 46 inch waist and 44 inch bust. It is in as-is fair condition, with some small faint age spot stains on the front, a few tiny frayed holes on one shoulder and a mended repair on the other (see close-ups). This is still a wonderful piece of wearable lace art!
