This antique Edwardian Titanic era black silk soutache applique lace long coat jacket dates from 1912. It is made of a layered black silk taffeta fabric covered with a sheer black polka dot net fabric, soutache work braided trim and black silk appliques cutout in a spiral scrolling floral leaf pattern design. This elegant exquisite evening coat is loose fitting, a long floor length, with long full sleeves, black silk button closure down the front and is fully lined. The coat measures 46 inches long, with 54 inch hips a 46 inch waist, 42 bust, 15 inch back and 23 inch long sleeves. It is in good condition, with only some fraying along the silk lining inside the shoulders (see close-up). This is truly an exceptional piece of wearable art!
