This antique Victorian Civil War era brown and white plaid muslin green floral trim embroidered dress dates from the 1860s. It is made of a brown and white stripe checked plaid sheer muslin fabric, with a green floral embroidered daisy design and green braided trim edging. This beautiful dress has a ruffled high neckline, long sleeves with green trim spaced gathering going down to the cuffs, smocking gathers around the fitted waistband, a long full hoop skirt with layered lined bottom ruffle, linen lined bodice and hook closures down the front. The dress measures 55 inches long, with a 26 inch waist, 32 inch bust, 12 inch back and 20 inch long sleeves. It is in good condition, with only a few small frays on the skirt. This is truly a wonderful piece of Victoriana textile art!
