This antique Victorian Civil War era green silk brocade black chantilly lace maternity dress dates from the 1860s. It is made of an iridescent forest green silk moire damask weave fabric, with a beautiful brocade pattern with rose medallions. There is black chantilly lace and black velvet trim edging. This magnificent 2 piece maternity dress has a loose fitting long bodice tunic top jacket style, with open front, no closure, long full sleeves with lace fringe trim cuffs and a small pocket hidden inside the front waist. The bodice is unlined, measures 24 inches long, with 40 inch hips, a 40 inch waist, 36 inch bust, 13 inch back and 21 inch long sleeves. There is a matching fabric long floor length full skirt, with replaced waistband, missing the back closure, with a small hidden pocket inside the waist and is unlined. The skirt measures 35 inches long, with a 26 inch waist. It is in good condition, with only some slight discoloration, faint age spotting on the jacket. This is truly a rare and wonderful piece of antique Victoriana maternity wearable art! $300 |
